Espresso Buttercream Frosting
This quick-as-can-be espresso buttercream frosting is a fluffy frosting that packs a pure, rich coffee flavor. Made with espresso powder, it's a no-brainer for coffee-loving bakers, and we'd recommend pairing it with chocolate baked goods to bring your creations to new chocolatey depths.
We prefer it with our very own Mocha Brownie Pizza (also pictured here), but really we'd say you should give it a go with any of your next chocolate cakes, cookies, or brownies!
2 TBSP Heavy whipping cream
1 ½ TSP Modern Mountain Espresso Powder
6 TBSP Unsalted butter, softened
2 Cups Powdered sugar, sifted
½ TSP Vanilla
Combine the whipping cream and espresso powder. Stir to combine. Set aside.
In the bowl of your mixer, beat the butter on medium speed for 4 minutes or until butter is pale in color.
Add powdered sugar and vanilla and beat for 4 minutes or until light and fluffy.
Add the whipping cream mixture and beat until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
Sneak a lick or three all on its own, and then use to top your baked goods of choice.
